The Gallery House
The Gallery House was designed for an art lover seeking a bright, airy home where paintings and sculptures could be experienced in the best possible light. Working alongside Steensen Varming, the lighting was carefully integrated into the architecture so that when switched off, it remained almost invisible.
Integrated by Design
Linear LED lighting was embedded within ceilings, coves, and stairwells to create a clean, contemporary glow throughout the home. The effect is subtle but powerful, drawing attention to the walls, kitchen, living spaces, and artwork while maintaining a refined architectural finish.
Smart Lighting Control
Casambi was selected for its intuitive wireless control, straightforward installation, and energy efficiency. Afterglow Controls managed commissioning and provided homeowner training, ensuring the system could be used with confidence and ease from day one.
Tailored for Everyday Living
Custom lighting scenes were programmed for dining, entertaining, and cleaning, allowing the home to shift effortlessly between moods and functions. The addition of the Casambi Xpress switch gave users simple tactile control, making the experience as practical as it was elegant.
The Result
The Gallery House shows what happens when architectural thinking and smart lighting control are considered together from the outset - a home where beauty, function, and automation work as one.
