Nude Lucy: Retail Lighting Design with Casambi Wireless Controls

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Nude Lucy stores are designed to feel warm, calm, and inviting. The lighting supports this by focusing attention on the merchandise rather than over-lighting the space.

Working with LPA Lighting, the lighting design combines warm white tones, targeted accent lighting, and decorative fittings throughout the store. The system features a mix of DALI dimmable track spots and adjustable recessed downlights to create layered and flexible retail lighting.

The lighting control system operates on Casambi BLE wireless technology and was commissioned by Afterglow Controls. Installation was completed by Shane Witney from Prime Electrical & Data Systems.

The result is a consistent lighting experience across multiple store locations, with the flexibility to adapt layouts and displays over time.

Warm Retail Lighting

A 3000K warm white colour temperature is used throughout the store to create a relaxed retail environment that complements the Nude Lucy brand.

Lighting is focused onto clothing displays using recessed and adjustable luminaires positioned around the perimeter. By directing light onto merchandise and display walls, the store achieves a more layered and engaging atmosphere.

 

Fitting Room Experience

Toward the rear of the store, the lighting transitions into a softer and more personalised fitting room environment.

The fitting rooms feature tuneable white lighting designed to mimic different times of day and varying colour temperatures. Tuneable white downlights and recessed LED mirror strips allow customers to experience clothing under different lighting conditions.

Each fitting room includes a keypad with tailored lighting scenes:

  1. Daylight
  2. Golden
  3. Dusk
  4. Evening

The spaces also incorporate kinetic motion-powered switches and a dimmable full-wall mirrored styling room, creating a premium and adaptable customer experience.

Casambi Wireless Control

All lighting is controlled through Casambi wireless technology using a Bluetooth mesh network. This removes the need for additional control cabling and allows lighting scenes to be adjusted through mobile devices or tablets.

The system provides:

  • Wireless lighting control throughout the store
  • Scene adjustment for displays and fitting rooms
  • Flexible reconfiguration for layout changes
  • Simplified commissioning and maintenance
