SSI Logan Hub: Smart Wireless Lighting Controls for a Community-Focused Facility

The newly opened SSI Logan Hub is a welcoming community space designed to provide support, education and connection for people across the Logan QLD region.

Officially opened on 7 July 2026, the purpose-built facility brings together a range of community services under one roof, creating a flexible and modern environment that will continue to serve the region for years to come.

Afterglow Controls was proud to contribute to this important project by supplying and commissioning the Casambi wireless lighting control system, helping deliver intelligent lighting that is simple to operate, energy efficient and adaptable to the building’s changing needs.

A Flexible Wireless Lighting Control Solution

Community buildings require lighting that can respond to different uses throughout the day. From meeting rooms and reception areas to shared workspaces and circulation zones, lighting needs to provide comfort while remaining easy to manage.

Using Casambi BLE, the SSI Logan Hub benefits from a completely wireless lighting control system without the complexity of traditional control wiring.

The installation provides:

  • Wireless lighting control throughout the building
  • Occupancy sensing for automatic lighting operation
  • Local push-button control where required
  • DALI lighting control for compatible luminaires
  • Cloud connectivity for remote management and support

The result is a system that improves user experience while helping reduce unnecessary energy consumption.

Hardware Supplied by Afterglow Controls

Afterglow Controls supplied and commissioned a range of Casambi-compatible hardware including:

  • 4 × Casambi Cloud Gateways
  • 117 × Versaan Unity S1 Sensors
  • 10 × Versaan Integral D1 DALI Controllers
  • 4 × Versaan Integral T1 Phase Dimmers
  • 5 × Versaan Integral C1 Push Button Controllers
  • Surface Mount Accessories
  • Complete commissioning, programming and system testing

Each component was selected to deliver reliable wireless communication and intuitive lighting control throughout the facility.

Built for Long-Term Performance

One of the greatest advantages of Casambi is its flexibility. As the SSI Logan Hub evolves over time, lighting groups, scenes, schedules and sensor behaviour can all be adjusted without installing additional control wiring. This provides the facility managers with a future-ready solution that can adapt as spaces change or new requirements emerge.

Combined with occupancy sensing and wireless control, the system also supports ongoing energy efficiency and simplified maintenance.
