Casambi Salvador 2000 series: bringing DALI and wireless control together
Share
We’ve seen more projects lately where DALI is already in place, but there’s a need for more flexibility on top of it. That usually leads to the same question. Do we stick with wired control, or move to something wireless?
The Casambi Salvador 2000 series is designed to solve that. It lets you bring existing DALI systems into the Casambi ecosystem without having to start again.
Where it fits on site
A lot of jobs are not starting from scratch. There is already DALI installed, or it has been specified for part of the project. The challenge is how to add flexibility without overcomplicating things.
With the Salvador series, we can connect DALI luminaires directly into a Casambi network. That means wired and wireless devices can sit in the same system and be controlled together through the app.
It is a practical way to extend what is already there, rather than replacing it.
What it actually changes
The biggest shift is in how the system is commissioned and controlled.
There is no need for DALI software, USB interfaces, or a laptop on site. Everything is handled through the Casambi app. That alone can save time during setup and make adjustments much easier later on.
It also opens up more flexibility. Scenes, grouping, and automation can be applied across both wired and wireless devices without treating them as separate systems.
Key features that matter on site
The Salvador 2000 series is built to keep things straightforward.
It has an integrated power supply, so there is less to coordinate during install. It supports DALI D4i, DT6, and DT8, which covers most setups we are seeing on projects. Commissioning is done through the app, so there is no need for additional tools or software.
It also provides a simple way to bring DALI into cloud-connected control without adding unnecessary complexity.
Why this matters for contractors
From what we are seeing, the value is in flexibility.
You can keep the reliability of DALI where it makes sense, and layer in wireless control where it adds value. That might be in areas that need more frequent changes, or where running additional cabling is not practical.
It also makes upgrades more achievable. Instead of reworking an entire system, you can build on what is already installed.
Available models
SAL-2016 supports up to 16 DALI addresses
SAL-2032 supports up to 32 DALI addresses
SAL-2064 supports up to 64 DALI addresses
A practical step forward
The Salvador 2000 series is not about replacing DALI. It is about making it more flexible.
For projects that sit between fully wired and fully wireless, it gives a clear path forward without adding unnecessary complexity.
